About Axel

Meet Axel. He's a striking one-year-old German Shepherd looking for a unique home environment where he can thrive. Axel is incredibly affectionate and thrives on human companionship. He enjoys being part of the family and feels happiest when he's close to his trusted humans. While he's good with children, he needs to be the only dog in the home, as he can be possessive and has had some conflicts with other dogs in the past. Having recently returned from a foster home, Axel is fully house trained and knows basic commands. He does experience some separation anxiety and prefers not to be left alone for long periods. Axel isn’t fond of being crate-trained and can be quite opinionated about grooming—especially when it comes to nail trims. Moreover, he has shown little interest in treats or bones, which makes him a bit unique in the canine world. Despite a few attempts to escape the yard, Axel is not a runaway; he prefers to stay close to home and has a knack for returning when called.
