About Pepper
Pepper is an 8-year-old, 35-pound Border Collie mix with a gorgeous white-and-gray coat and a heart brimming with love. This cuddle bug enjoys being close to her people, whether you’re watching TV, cooking dinner, or watering the garden. Whether it's a hike or a leisurely stroll, she is always up for an adventure. Smart and eager to learn, Pepper knows commands like sit, lay down, stay, and walk. She’s crate-trained and vaccinated but does take Prozac and Apoquel due to some arthritis in her legs, so ongoing care should be considered in any potential home. Although she does well on her own with no accidents, Pepper's comfort is paramount. Pepper has made strides in adjusting to life with a growing toddler, yet she feels uneasy around young kids and has shown signs of resource guarding. For her safety and well-being, a home without young children is essential; older kids aged 10 and up may be more fitting. While she can get along with some dogs given careful introductions and management of food and toys, any placement with canines should be carefully assessed. Living with three cats, she may chase them but has not shown aggression. Houses with small animals should be considered only with adequate separation. Pepper's family loves her deeply but recognizes that she needs a peaceful, understanding home to truly flourish. If you think you can provide the right environment for Pepper, apply today.
