About Gus
Meet Gus—106 pounds of possibility! At 5 years old, he’s a big guy looking for a home that can embrace his size, energy, and the next chapter of his life. Surrendered due to not being the right fit for his previous owner, Gus needs a family that can provide regular exercise, patient guidance, and ample time for him to settle in. According to his former owner, Gus does well with other dogs and is an excellent car passenger. Looking for a road trip buddy? He’s ready to fill that spot—and a good portion of the back seat! However, he does chase cats, so it’s best if he goes to a home without feline friends. Gus may bark at strangers and has been known to bark and growl when meeting unfamiliar people. He’ll require slow, thoughtful introductions, and he needs space to adapt without feeling rushed. Our team is here to help determine if he’s the right fit for your household. This strong boy does pull on the leash, so he’s looking for someone experienced with large dogs who can work on his walking manners through positive reinforcement. Opportunities for movement, sniffing, playing, and learning will be important in his routine. Can you offer room in your life—and your back seat—for Gus? Ask our team about meeting him!
