River could really use a break from shelter life. Meet River, a 6-year-old neutered Irish Setter who came to us as an owner surrender due to his previous owner’s health challenges. He’s a loving and playful boy who enjoys the company of both strangers and visitors. Housetrained and familiar with several basic commands, River was trusted to roam freely at home. He has a history of getting along well with cats, small animals, and other dogs, as well as being around children, although we lack detailed accounts of those interactions. This sweet dog is struggling to adjust to the stress of shelter life, and we want to see him settled in a comfortable home again. River has a growth that's set to be removed soon, alongside some lick granulomas which may be stress-related. We’re addressing his medical needs, but what River truly requires is a quieter environment where he can find security.
