Toby is a 5-year-old male basset/beagle mix. He is medium in size and a house-trained dog. Although he has had a rough past, he is now neutered and in good health. Toby enjoys treats and is currently located in Crystal, MN.

About Toby

Toby is a basset/beagle mix and is around 5 years old. He has had a challenging start in life, having come from an abusive background. This experience has made him wary of men; he may growl when feeling uneasy, although he hasn't shown any signs of biting. It's important for his new owner to be patient and understanding, allowing him to adjust without pressure. Older children would be a better fit for his home, as they can learn to respect his space and understand his past. Currently in a foster home, Toby is recovering and getting neutered. So far, he has enjoyed car rides, happily letting his long ears and jowls flap in the wind as he goes. His interactions with other dogs have been positive, and while he has met some kittens, their energy left him a bit confused. Toby is still learning how to walk nicely on a leash and will do best with a harness, as his hound instincts guide him. He is motivated by treats, which he loves dearly.
