Izzy is a wonderful 11-month-old Belgian Malinois with a gentle personality and a playful spirit. She weighs 45 pounds and has a short brindle coat. Despite being part of a high-energy breed, she doesn’t exhibit the typical intensity often associated with Malinois. Izzy can be a bit skittish around new people, especially if they reach out to pet her. She lacks some confidence, but once she feels comfortable, her goofy side shines. Her food motivation makes her highly trainable; she’s eager to learn, and attending group training classes is a great way to enhance her confidence. This sweet girl gets along well with friendly dogs of all sizes and is playful yet submissive. While she loves to chase cats for fun, she can live with a calm, dog-savvy cat. After overcoming some rough times, like being surrendered in poor health, she is now housebroken and uses a dog door. Izzy needs a patient, gentle handler who can boost her confidence without harshness. Ideally, she fits best in an active family with another friendly dog and a quiet home environment, away from too many visitors. A secure yard with fencing of at least six feet is essential, as this athletic girl needs space to play.
