About Austin
Austin is a big, loveable grey tabby who adores being petted. Discovered near a school in May 2026, he exudes a friendly demeanor that suggests he was someone’s pet at some point. While we’re estimating his age to be between 2 and 3 years, it is currently a bit of a mystery. Austin is already neutered and has been brought up to date on Rabies and Feline Leukemia vaccinations; he’s also microchipped. He is FIV positive, which means he needs a special environment. FIV isn’t transferable to humans and typically spreads through deep bites from infected cats. This makes indoor living the safest option for him, ideally in a home without other cats or with another FIV-positive cat. Austin is exceptionally sociable and orients his life around human interaction. He’s fine with getting his nails clipped and handles grooming tasks like a champ. He uses the litter box perfectly! There’s no doubt that apart from being FIV positive, he’s a happy and healthy cat. In over 30 years of experience, the Central Georgia Community Cat Co-Op found Austin to be among the friendliest cats ever. Currently, he’s at Paws Awhile Cat Cafe in Perry, GA, where you can meet him. Bring your heart, as finding the right home for Austin will require dedication.
