About Ringo
Meet Ringo! With big paws and soulful eyes, this 7-month-old brindle boy is all heart. Weighing around 65-70 pounds, he still has some growing to do. Ringo comes from an interesting family tree; his mother is a Karakachan, a livestock guardian breed from Bulgaria, while his father is a Redbone Coonhound. Despite his guardian lineage, Ringo prefers the indoor life as a family companion and hasn’t realized he’s too big to be a lap dog! While Ringo can be shy with new people, he has a gentle, affectionate personality that quickly shines through. He already knows several commands: sit, stay, down, shake, and even how to “blow his nose” into a tissue. Ringo is house-trained and signals when he needs to go out by nudging his leash. This playful pup enjoys walks and is best suited with a no-pull harness. Ringo thrives around other pets, particularly enjoyed the company of kittens, showering them with gentle licks. However, he is still adjusting to the world around him and can be startled by loud noises. He exhibits some guarding behavior with his favorite person and during meals with other animals. Ringo will do best with an experienced family who can help him build confidence and provide ongoing training. He’s ready for a home where he can explore and be part of the family.
