About Poppi

Mama Poppi is ready for her own forever home after dedicating her time to raising her puppies, five of whom survived. She unexpectedly found her way to a farm in northeast Alabama where she learned of her pregnancy. Poppi is estimated to be around 3 to 4 years old and likely has experienced this kind of life before. Although she can feel nervous around new people, a little patience goes a long way. Once she trusts you, she’s incredibly loyal and affectionate. She greets her foster with excitement, demonstrating just how much love she has to give. While she is curious about other dogs, she can be defensive during introductions and would probably thrive best as the only adult dog initially. However, she adores puppies and might accept a younger dog once she’s comfortable in her new space. Poppi enjoys walks and is potty trained, but be mindful; she has a strong instinct to chase cars and squirrels. A fenced yard would be ideal for her to explore safely. For those within a few hours of Chattanooga, there’s also a foster-to-adopt opportunity to help her transition. Now that her puppies have found their happy endings, it's Poppi's turn to receive the love she’s been waiting for.
