About Luka

Luka is a 3-year-old, 66-pound Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees mix, back in the care of Humane Tomorrow after a brief adoption. His previous family faced health challenges, but now Luka is thriving in his foster home. He had some allergy issues that prevented effective treatment, but thanks to a veterinarian specializing in dermatology, his condition has significantly improved. After just three weeks in his foster's care, his fur is growing back, his sores have healed, and he's regained his healthy appetite. Luka will need allergy shots or drops for life, but he takes them willingly if you offer him a bit of cheese first. Luka enjoys his walks, typically a mile in the morning and a half mile in the evening, although he wouldn’t mind a jog if you're up for the challenge. While he walks well on a leash, he could use some additional training. He loves to spend his time outdoors, keeping an eye out for squirrels and rabbits in the yard. This friendly dog gets along well with his foster brother, a large golden retriever mix, but he’s not fond of terriers. Luka is also great for grooming, happily letting you brush his coat. He respects your space, refraining from jumping on furniture or beds. If you’re seeking a loyal companion and can provide Luka with necessary care, consider applying to adopt him!
