About Smiling Dog
Meet Smiling Dog! Yes, that’s his name: Don’t wear it out! This cheerful boy greets everyone with the biggest, ear-to-ear smile, always overjoyed to see you. He earned his name from the children in his foster home, who love to point out how he truly is the happiest puppy. Even before he had any teeth, his big, goofy smile shined through. Despite his happy-go-lucky demeanor, Smiling Dog’s early life wasn’t easy. He and his six littermates faced near tragedy at a Texas shelter. Surrendered without their mother at just three weeks old, they required around-the-clock bottle feeding. The shelter lacked resources and was prepared to euthanize them, but we couldn’t let that happen. We walked away with two litters that day, including Smiling Dog. Because he was bottle-raised and fostered around children, he enjoys handling and craves attention. He’s the largest of his litter, with sizable, squishy paws, a sturdy build, strong legs, and the sweetest eyes. Smiling Dog is doing well with housebreaking, sleeps through the night, and just started crate training. He loves playing with kids and dogs, but he shows too much enthusiasm for the foster’s chickens. His adoption fee covers all rounds of puppy vaccines, rabies, neutering, microchipping, deworming, and current heartworm prevention. Smiling Dog is available for out-of-state adoption, so distance shouldn't hold you back from meeting this delightful pup! Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and let’s get started.
