About Fred

Meet Fred! This sweet hound has faced more than most dogs should. When he arrived at the rescue, Fred was withdrawn and clearly in pain. He lost his left eye, which was removed to relieve his suffering, and a chronic cherry eye has left limited vision in his remaining eye. After surgery and medication, he has started to shine. Fred loves going on walks without his cone, happily putting that hound nose to use. True to his breed, he has a medium energy level and is often more interested in sniffing around than interacting with people. However, once you earn his trust, Fred is affectionate and loves giving kisses. He'll need some basic manners training and will flourish with scent games to keep him engaged. Fred is ready to open his heart to a loving home that offers him the soft landing he so deserves. Could Fred be your guy? Come meet him at Mountain Humane!
