About Gertie

Gertie is ready to find a family to call her own! This sweet girl enjoys spending time with people, batting around her favorite toys, and settling into a cozy spot to relax. Now, she's just waiting for someone to give her a chance at a home of her very own! Gertie is FeLV-positive, which means she has feline leukemia virus. While that might sound scary, she can still enjoy a happy, comfortable life filled with all the things that make being a cat wonderful! She loves to play, snuggle, explore, and be the loving companion she was always meant to be. Although FeLV affects the immune system, with extra attention to her health and regular veterinary care, she can have a wonderful life. Gertie would do best as the only cat in her home or with another FeLV-positive kitty. She has lived happily around other cats, so if you already have a FeLV-positive friend looking for a companion, Gertie could be just the girl for them! With so much love to give, she deserves a family that sees her for the sweet cat she is. Gertie doesnโ€™t need a perfect home, just a loving one where she can feel safe, play with her toys, enjoy cozy naps, and be someone's special girl. She's ready for her happily ever after. Could you be the one she's been waiting for?
