About Opal

Opal is a sweet senior dog who found her way to rescue after her owner passed away. Previously tied to a chain on a porch, she has shown surprising resilience and adaptability. Despite her rough past, Opal is housebroken and possesses excellent house manners, indicating she may have been a house dog before. She's around 8 years old, currently being treated for heartworms, but is already making great progress. This lovely brindle lady enjoys the simple pleasures in life, like lounging in her cozy bed and snuggling up to her human. While she likes to run around the yard occasionally and play with other dogs, her favorite pastime is just being close to someone who cares. Opal has put on some healthy weight and is in good spirits, ready to soak up all the love in her golden years. Although she does great in the house and can use a dog door, she doesn’t do well with cats. She would thrive as a companion for an elderly person looking for a gentle friend. Ready to give Opal the caring home she deserves?
