Blue Moon is a charming 3-year-old Australian Shepherd mix at our shelter, ready to meet his new family in Wheeling, IL. Once in a Blue Moon does a dog as adorable as Blue Moon come along. He weighs in at about 60 pounds and has a delightful presence that lights up any room. This handsome boy came to us from a partner shelter in Kentucky after being abandoned in an apartment. His luxurious, long fur flowing in the breeze caught our attention immediately. But it’s not just his looks that win hearts; Blue Moon is sweet, goofy, and bursting with a happy-go-lucky spirit. With an adorable little nub for a tail, his whole back end wiggles with excitement whenever he greets you, making it impossible to resist falling in love with him. Blue Moon is truly a lovable goof who spreads joy wherever he goes. Currently, Blue Moon is undergoing treatment for heartworm, but he's in good hands with Heartland Animal Shelter, where the costs of care will be covered until he is heartworm free. His treatment plan includes a 28-day course of antibiotics and injections, ensuring he’ll be back to health soon.
