About Sam
Meet Sam! Sam is a gentle-hearted tabby who invites you in with his warm, tender spirit. He’s a sweetheart at his core, seeking to build a close, trusting bond with his human companions. While he may not storm into a room like he owns the place, his personality truly begins to shine once he feels safe. With just a little patience and reassurance, Sam transforms from a cautious kitten into a playful, curious, and confident little guy. He’s great with other cats and would thrive alongside a friendly feline buddy who can help him adjust to a new home. Sam is also dog-friendly; after a measured introduction, he has become completely at ease with the cat-friendly dogs in his foster environment. Although he hasn’t had extensive exposure to children, he could do well with respectful kids who understand his need for some space before getting too close. Sam’s reserved nature is understandable, given his start in a large outdoor colony in rural Mississippi, where he learned to be cautious in his surroundings. However, foster life has taught him that people can be kind, homes can be safe, and love feels wonderful. It may take time for him to trust completely, but with a gentle heart and the patience to let him blossom at his own pace, you’ll find Sam is capable of incredible loyalty and affection. Keep in mind that kittens under four months need to be adopted in pairs or to homes with a playful resident cat, as they thrive better together. If you’re on the lookout for a singular feline friend, consider adopting an older cat. Every animal at Sweet Paws is deeply cherished by their rescuers, fosters, and volunteers. On adoption day, Sam will have up-to-date vaccinations, but remember, kittens require multiple vet visits in their first year. Please apply only if you're fully committed to adopting. Your new best friend is just one click away.
