About Rafiki

Rafiki, the largest and sweetest of the 15 neglected dogs rescued in Summer 2025, is ready for a loving home. Found chained and exposed to the harsh sun, he has shown incredible resilience and capacity for love despite his past. This 2-3 year old neutered male Pit Bull Terrier weighs 70 lbs and has a beautiful golden coat. He thrives on affection and is fully vetted, eager to find his forever family. Rafiki enjoys playing with the 14 dogs he came in with, though he is still cautious around new ones. He does best in a large, fenced-in area where he can safely run and play. Most importantly, he needs a family dedicated to giving him love and support to help him forget his past struggles. Currently in foster care in Tennessee, Rafiki can be transported to approved adopters in Mississippi, Arkansas, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
