About Sparky

Meet Sparky, a delightful 4-year-old, 11 lb. long-haired Chihuahua with a charming little smile and a joyful spirit. He was initially rescued by Bridgeport Animal Control and later taken in by Trumbull Animal Control. Unfortunately, no one came to claim him, leaving him at the pound until Happily Furever After Rescue stepped in to offer him a fresh start. Now, he’s in a foster home where his sweet personality truly gets to shine. Sparky is a snugly little buddy who loves accompanying you wherever you go. He enjoys leisurely walks and tasty snacks, happily following you around—he’ll be your adorable shadow. While he can be a bit shy meeting new people, he appreciates a gentle approach in gaining his trust. Once he feels secure, this little charmer loves being close to his humans and soaking up affection. Just a heads up, if Sparky gets uncomfortable during handling, he might give a little nip, like a tiny electric shock. For now, he prefers gentle pets on his head, particularly given his sensitive skin and allergies. He’s currently on Apoquel to manage itchiness, and soothing antibacterial shampoo is recommended during baths. Sparky is great with other dogs but is indifferent to them, making him perfectly suited as your one and only furry companion. He might choose a favorite human and show some guarding behavior towards them, so an experienced adopter would be ideal, especially if there are other dogs in the home. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and walks nicely on a leash. When left alone, he settles down comfortably in his crate and patiently thinks of his favorite spot—curled up in your lap or cozied under a blanket. Sparky may be small, but he has a big heart ready to love! His adoption fee is $450, and he comes vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered.
