About Big Mama
Big Mama might look like a twin, but she's all unique! At around 4 years old, this charming Dachshund was brought to the rescue along with 10 other dogs after losing her owner. She’s thriving in foster care, showing impressive house training skills and getting along well with her foster siblings. While she enjoys the company of older kids in the home, younger children can make her feel anxious; she hasn't shown any aggression, but she does get nervous around them. Her shy demeanor melts away quickly once she gets to know you. Big Mama does just fine with cats, but she’s still getting accustomed to the leash and would prefer a fenced yard where she can feel secure, especially away from younger children. We recommend a home with kids aged 8 and older for her comfort. Weighing in at about 19 lbs, she’s fully vetted and ready for her forever home. Big Mama is located in Semmes, AL, but she can travel to meet her new family. Make a difference in her life and start your journey together!
