About Esme

Meet Esme, a resilient girl who’s made it through unimaginable hardships, yet still has so much love to give. Her time living on the streets has left marks, but her spirit remains unbroken. At her arrival, Esme showed signs of a difficult life; her fur was tangled, her frame was skinny, and you could feel her bones beneath her skin. Sadly, Esme tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), conditions that could deter some potential adopters. But please look beyond those letters. This sweet girl, despite her struggles, adores affection. She loves to be close, seeking warmth and companionship from those around her, showing just how special a rescue's love can be. Esme shines with a gentle spirit, is fantastic with children, and has an insatiable capacity to love, even after all she has weathered. Now she deserves a chance at a safe home, where she can relax and feel secure, knowing she has a family that will care for her. Given her conditions, we're looking for a home where Esme can be the sole cat and where her human companions can commit to regular veterinary care and attention. While FeLV can impact her immune system, it doesn’t define her ability to live a happy, fulfilling life. Esme has fought too long just to survive; it's time for her to thrive. More than anything, she deserves a loving family that looks past her past. If you're ready to give Esme the second chance she so richly deserves, she is waiting for you in her foster home in Chattanooga, TN, and can be transported to suitable locations within the continental U.S. Don't let her diagnosis hold her back from a happy ending.
