Elmer Fudd is a senior male English Cocker Spaniel, approximately 12 years old. He is small, black in color, and has a long coat. Elmer is house trained, spayed, and current on vaccinations. Currently located in Rockville, MD, he weighs about 19 lbs. This lovely boy enjoys a calm environment and is best suited for adults only due to his boundaries and sensitivities.

About Elmer Fudd

Meet Elmer Fudd! This charming guy has a passion for tennis balls like no other. He's not one to rush into friendship and prefers to take his time when it comes to getting to know new people. Personal space is important to him, and he'll happily play with a ball on his own if his humans are busy. Elmer was found as a stray, arriving at the shelter covered in fleas and suffering from painful mats. Though he faced some challenges, including a bald spot near his tail and a grade 3/6 heart murmur, he’s now flea-free and in great spirits after treatment and a dental. Luckily, his heart condition doesn't require medication, so he's ready for his forever home! This handsome boy enjoys car rides, walks, fetch, and his favorite thing—booty scritches! Elmer is fully house trained and behaves well while left alone. He would do well in a home with a larger dog or as the only pet. With plenty of energy, he loves playing fetch and chasing squirrels, but he does have some boundaries that are important to respect. He may get overstimulated during petting and can be protective of his food, so he’d do best in an adult-only home without small pets. Elmer also has some arthritis in his back end, managed by CBD and occasionally gabapentin. He can navigate a few stairs but would find a full staircase challenging. His ideal environment includes lots of walks, structure, and, of course, endless tennis balls. If you’re patient enough to earn his trust and understand his need for space, you’ll uncover a gentle and affectionate companion who brings immense joy to those around him.
