About Houston
Meet Houston, a big boy with an even bigger heart! This lovable guy is around 1 year old and weighs about 42 pounds; he may be a Border Collie mix, but his personality is pure love. After recovering from a paw injury, Houston is now neutered and ready to find his forever home. While he’s affectionate and sweet, Houston does have some challenges. He experiences separation anxiety, so he thrives best when someone is home with him or when he has a canine companion around. He isn’t fond of being kenneled overnight, and when left alone, he may shred blankets. However, he's making great progress with his training and has shown he can be left alone for a few hours without issue. A consistent routine and lots of patience will help him with house training. Houston has also been learning to trust people. Initially unsure about men, he's now more comfortable and approaches them more often. He shares a special bond with Missy, a dog from ARF, who has been a great friend to him. This gorgeous boy has a lot of energy and isn’t the best fit for homes with toddlers, as he might accidentally knock them down. Houston deserves a place to call home, ideally one that understands his need for security and companionship. If you think you might be the right fit for him, please consider applying to adopt. Houston is ready to write his next chapter with you! Let’s help Houston find the happy ending he deserves!
