Meet Russell, a energetic and charming neutered boy weighing 56 pounds. With a striking mix of Chow Chow and Shepherd in him, he has an adorable black tongue that adds to his character. He thrives in a spacious yard where he can run and explore, yet he’s perfectly content to lounge outside with you for hours. Not one to bark, his peaceful demeanor makes him a lovely companion. Russell is housebroken and uses a crate occasionally. He's learned basic commands and delights in picking up new skills. While he can be sweet and affectionate, he does exhibit some resource-guarding behaviors, which his new family should be prepared to address. He has always been good with kids, but a home without children would suit him best. As he prefers being the only dog, he should ideally have no canine companions in his new home. He has not been tested with cats, so a single-pet household is recommended. We want to make his transition as smooth as possible and can share his trainer’s contact info for additional support. Ultimately, Russell deserves a perfect match to help him thrive. This isn’t a reflection of his behavior, but rather an understanding of his needs for happiness.
