About Rio
Meet Rio! Rio is a stunning 6-year-old Husky Shepherd mix with bright blue eyes and a gentle soul. Weighing in at around 77 pounds, he’s house trained, smart, and well-behaved. This affectionate boy delights in cuddles, pets, and toys, making him a wonderful companion. Whether it’s a relaxing evening on the couch or a day out in nature, Rio loves spending time with his favorite people. Recently, he underwent spinal surgery for a pinched nerve and is steadily progressing. He doesn’t require special care but does need a bit of assistance with stairs and ongoing gentle physical therapy as he heals. Rio forms strong bonds and may need reassurances when his humans leave. With a supportive family cheering him on, he’ll continue to thrive and heal. While Rio can get along with other dogs with proper introductions, he'd prefer to be the only pet, soaking up all the love. He can adapt to both active and calm homes—as long as he gets the affection he craves and time to recover. Currently, he's being fostered in Long Beach, and transport can be arranged for his forever home. Ready to welcome Rio into your heart? Click apply to start the adoption process.
