About Boogie

Meet Boogie! This gentle, nearly nine-year-old Shepherd/Rottweiler mix is currently living in Redwood City, CA, with a journey that’s nothing short of miraculous. Boogie has a sleek black coat and a heart just as big. He’s laid-back and deeply affectionate, perfectly content to curl up for a nap, lounge in the yard, or enjoy a sniff-filled walk. He’s wonderful with people—friendly, easygoing, and completely without an edge. His gentle demeanor captures attention, especially when he wears a cozy little sweater. Boogie knows basic commands like Sit, Down, Stay, and Go Potty, thanks to his training that included leash manners. He’s manageable on walks, though he may bark at other dogs. While he hasn’t lived with children, he has met kids on walks with positive interactions. He enjoys the company of other calm dogs and could live with one, given proper introductions, or he could be adopted together with his best friend, Baby, who is also available. However, he should not be in a home with cats or small pets. House-trained and easy to live with, he settles down quickly and is fairly low-maintenance, asking for little beyond a treat now and then. He does have skin allergies, so medicated baths are part of his routine. Boogie comes with one year of medical insurance and the option for a consultation with a professional trainer. To ease the transition, he'd benefit from a two-week foster-to-adopt trial. Rescued from Oakland Animal Services just in time, Boogie has been nurtured in a loving foster home. He's open to long-distance adoptions and his journey could lead him to you. If you think Boogie could be your kind of dog, feel free to reach out. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
