About Boogie

Meet Boogie! This gentle nearly nine-year-old, 80-pound Shepherd/Rottweiler mix is living in Redwood City, CA. His journey from a rescue shelter is inspiring, and he has a sleek black coat that matches his big heart. Boogie embodies gentleness and affection. He enjoys curling up for a nap, lounging in the yard, or going for sniff-filled walks. His friendly, easygoing demeanor makes him wonderful with people; he shines in a little sweater, showcasing his soft nature. Boogie knows basic commands like Sit, Down, and Stay, and completed a board-and-train program focused on leash manners. Though he may bark at other dogs during outings, he is manageable with some guidance. While he hasn't lived with children, he interacts well with them during walks. He's friendly with other calm dogs—with proper introductions—or you could adopt him alongside his best friend, Baby, who is also up for adoption. However, Boogie does not get along with cats or small pets. This house-trained dog can be left alone and is easy to live with. He settles quickly and is generally low-maintenance, although he’ll keep tabs on the kitchen bin until you establish a routine. Boogie does have skin allergies and needs medicated baths, but his first-year medical insurance is covered through the rescue, along with optional training support. Having been saved from euthanasia at Oakland Animal Services in December 2024, Boogie is now thriving in a loving foster home. Adoptions can begin with a foster-to-adopt trial, allowing a pressure-free transition. Located in Redwood City, CA, long-distance adoptions are welcomed. If Boogie sounds like your ideal companion or you have questions, reach out via the provided contact. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
