About Boogie
Meet Boogie! This nearly nine-year-old, 80-pound Shepherd/Rottweiler mix has an inspiring story. Living in Redwood City, CA, Boogie has a sleek black coat and a gentle spirit that matches his size. He is laid-back and affectionate, equally content curling up for a nap, lounging in the yard, or going for a sniff-filled walk. Heβs great with people, friendly and easygoing, lacking any edge. His adorable nature shines, especially when he wears a little sweater. Boogie knows his basic commands like Sit, Down, and Stay, and he's come a long way after graduating from a board-and-train program focused on leash manners. While he's manageable on walks, he still barks at other dogs. He's never lived with children, but he's met them and interacted well. He enjoys the company of other calm dogs and could be a good match for a compatible canine companion. However, he should not be in a home with cats or small pets. Boogie is house-trained and quite easy to live with, settling in quickly. Just keep an eye on the kitchen bin for his curiosity. He does have skin allergies, which require medicated baths as part of his routine. Good news: his medical insurance is covered for his first year, and a consultation with a trainer is also available. Boogie found his way to a loving foster home after being pulled from Oakland Animal Services just before he was to be euthanized. He comes with the option for a two-week foster-to-adopt trial instead of a traditional handover, allowing for a smooth transition. Based in Redwood City, California, he is open to long-distance adoption, and the rescue will arrange transport. If Boogie sounds like a perfect match for you, donβt hesitate to reach out!
