About Fiona
Princess Fiona is ready for the good life! This lovely poodle-mix is around 13 years old and weighs approximately 12 pounds. Found in a swamp in Connecticut this summer, Fiona came to Vintage Pet Rescue for a fresh start when no one claimed her. In the months since, she has made incredible progress. Once fearful and aloof, she now greets newcomers with a wagging tail and actively seeks out attention. While she prefers not to be picked up, Fiona is a wonderful companion who will follow you from room to room between her cozy naps. She gets along well with other dogs but will show her teeth if another dog approaches her bed, indicating her desire for space to rest peacefully. When Fiona first arrived, she was malnourished and matted, requiring a full shave. Her soft curly coat has since flourished, and she has reached a healthy weight. Previously suffering from anemia and severe dental decay, Fiona underwent surgery to remove all but four of her teeth, alleviating her pain significantly. Fiona also has a grade 4 heart murmur and stage B1 mitral valve disease, but she does not require medication at this time. It’s recommended she have annual check-ups to monitor her heart health. She's spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and recently had full bloodwork. If you’re interested in adopting Fiona, please complete an application to give her the loving home she deserves. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
