About Silas
Silas is on a heartfelt journey to find his forever home, ideally as a foster. This 8-year-old Golden Retriever may be blind, but that doesn’t dim his vibrant spirit. Over the past year, Silas faced several relocations, each time adding to his challenges. He deserves a stable environment where he can settle in and feel secure. With a long, creamy coat and an endearing personality, Silas needs a patient family who understands his special needs. He’s currently on medication for allergies and enjoys leisurely walks where he can take in new scents. Silas loves his crate, which serves as his safe space, and he enjoys gentle play, especially with stuffed toys and chew bones. His joyful spirit shines through whenever he greets you with a big smile. This senior boy can thrive with understanding caretakers, ideally in a quiet home with minimal stairs and an enclosed yard. He’ll do well with older, calmer children and gets along with both dogs and cats. Great Lakes Golden Retriever Rescue will cover his medical needs, while the foster family can focus on providing love and care. Silas teaches resilience and trust, and he’s ready to form a deep bond with the right family. He deserves a place to call home where he can live out his golden years filled with comfort and love. Make Silas part of your family; he is waiting for you to open your heart!
