Ruby’s journey hasn’t been easy. She was abandoned alongside another dog, left in a home with no idea of what her future held. Thankfully, she found her way to safety, but while her companion has been adopted, Ruby is still waiting for her forever home. At her core, Ruby is a sweet girl, but she does exhibit signs of fear-based reactivity. This means she needs a special adopter—someone familiar with dog behavior who can recognize her cues and provide the kind of patience and understanding she deserves. Ruby would do best as the only pet in an adult-only home where the environment is calm and predictable. She loves being outdoors and benefits from having space to unwind. While Ruby may not be a “plug-and-play” dog, she has plenty of love to give to the right person. With compassion and time, she has the potential to become a loyal companion.
