Meet Waffles, an energetic and playful 5-year-old German Shepherd and Husky mix. He has a big personality and a heart to match. Waffles is very loyal, sweet, and completely house trained, though he may occasionally lift his leg in places previously marked by other dogs. Waffles thrives in a space where he can run freely. He loves to navigate all kinds of terrain and could run for miles. Polite kids are his favorite, but he’s known to voice his needs if things get too rowdy. He has undergone both basic and advanced obedience training, though his goofy nature might take over at times. He’s a great howler, often engaging in a conversation with his human friends and especially enjoys water activities. While he currently lives with cats, supervision is a must, as he’s dog-selective and prefers introductions to other canines to be slow and controlled. Waffles does well with passive medium to large dogs and has a peaceful coexistence with a 13-year-old female German shepherd and a 6-year-old cocker spaniel. However, he is prone to escape, so a secure yard is essential. Waffles also tends to bond more quickly with women and can be initially fearful of men. Giving Waffles the space and time to adjust to a new lifestyle will yield a loving companion. He is ready for a big yard or land to run on, as living in a neighborhood might pose challenges for his adventurous spirit.
