About Nigel

Nigel is a goofy and affectionate guy between 2 and 4 years old. He thrives on long walks, playful adventures, and squirrel hunting, always eager to please those he loves. Once he warms up to you, he’ll be your playful companion, ready to show off his fun-loving nature. This sweet boy is both house trained and crate trained, fitting comfortably into a routine. Currently, he enjoys playing with his six-year-old female husky friend but can be selective about his dog buddies, so careful introductions are crucial. He can also happily adjust to being the only dog, relishing the undivided attention of his people. Nigel has a strong prey drive and loves to chase squirrels, which is why a secure, high fence is essential. He enjoys digging, so appropriate outlets for his energy are necessary. Potential adopters should be aware that he may show resource guarding behaviors over high-value treats and food. It's important that all interactions around meals and treats are supervised. Therefore, all food and treats are given in his crate, and his future family will need to maintain this routine with thoughtful management and positive training. Nigel has had limited exposure to children under 14, so an adult home or one with older, dog-savvy kids would suit him best. Although he’s playful around kids, his resource guarding requires careful supervision during food interactions. Nigel is a loving companion with so much personality. With the right home that offers clear boundaries, secure fencing, and patient guidance, he can become an amazing friend and adventure buddy. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
