About Esme

Esme is a sophisticated little lady who knows exactly what she likes—an admirable trait in a feline. This charming girl is full of love and affection, yet she doesn't require being carried around all day. Instead, she prefers to curl up beside her favorite humans, enjoying quality time and companionship. While she tolerates being held, she'd rather snuggle close instead. Esme shines with children, making her an ideal companion for families looking for a sweet, easygoing adult cat. She’s also learning to coexist with dogs, preferring to maintain her space and usually avoiding them. There’s been no hissing or aggression; she’s simply a lady who enjoys her peace. A calm home with respectful dogs could work for her. Now, let’s address an important aspect about Miss Esme—her litter box standards. She has specific preferences for her bathroom setup, requiring a large, open-topped, and consistently clean litter box. If her needs aren’t met, she may resort to peeing beside it, not out of stubbornness but because she believes a lady deserves a well-kept restroom. Her future family must be committed to providing the appropriate litter box situation for her to maintain good habits. Beyond that, Esme is a wonderful girl—gentle, loving, and happy to relax by your side. If you’re seeking a sweet adult companion who enjoys quality time, respects personal space, and values cleanliness, Esme is ready to settle in with you. Currently located in Chattanooga, TN, she is available for transport within the continental United States, though residents of Massachusetts cannot adopt her.
