About Athena

Meet Athena! Looking for a snuggle buddy with a dash of sass and a huge personality? Athena is your girl! This beautiful, affectionate cat believes personal space is overrated when it comes to her favorite humans. If you have a lap available, that’s where she wants to be. If not, she’ll settle right beside you or even perch above you in a windowsill just to stay close. Come bedtime, she may just curl up as the little spoon, stealing your heart all over again. Athena enjoys the finer things in life—think cozy heating pads, sunny windows, and comfy spots to relax. Don’t let her love for lounging fool you; she has a playful side as well! While she’s taken a step back since her foster home became a lively place with kittens, that playful personality is starting to shine through again. She’s made fantastic progress learning to share her space with other cats, though she still appreciates her personal boundaries. Athena would blossom in a quieter home where she can bask in all the adoration, and perhaps a calm feline companion could work with proper introductions. At around 9 years young, Athena is bursting with love to give. She’s affectionate, occasionally opinionated, playful, and full of character. She doesn’t need a bustling household, just a warm place to sleep and a human to adore, possibly with a heating pad to call her own. Named after the Greek goddess of wisdom, Athena has truly mastered the art of winning hearts. Could you be the forever home she’s been waiting for? Athena is currently in a foster home, and if you’re interested in meeting her, shoot a message or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are $175 for a single cat or kitten, or $225 for a pair. When adopting from AHSEM, you’ll receive spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo testing (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
