About Boots
Meet Boots, the charming shepherd/spitz mix with adorable white-tipped paws. He's around 12-18 months old and weighs about 50 pounds, full of that youthful, playful energy. Boots started his journey in Houston, TX, where he faced a tough situation on the euthanasia list after just two days as a stray. With courage, he has been given a second chance and is now blossoming in his foster home in St. Paul, Minnesota. Initially shy and avoidant of people, Boots has been making great strides. His foster family shares how well heโs adapting and how much he enjoys the company of other dogs. He truly thrives in a social environment but can also be content as the solo star of the household. This sweet and gentle boy will need some patience as he adjusts to new people, but once he trusts you, his affectionate side comes alive, often with cute little nibbles, which heโs learning to express with chew toys instead. Boots is not just adorable; heโs also smart and eager to learn. Heโs food motivated and has already picked up the command to sit just by watching other dogs. To help him succeed, continued training and supervision are essential. He loves outdoor playtime and daily walks, but he also knows how to relax with long naps afterward. As he has a prey drive towards small animals, a securely fenced yard and plenty of activities will keep him happy. Heโs had positive interactions with cats and may do well around respectful children, given the right introductions. Boots has come a long way and is ready for a nurturing family to help him grow and thrive. If you think you could provide the loving home Boots deserves, heโs waiting for you.
