About Opto

Meet Opto, a 33-month-old male German Shepherd in Williston, FL. This affectionate and people-focused dog has mastered extensive obedience training through our service dog program, although public-access service work isn’t the best fit for him. Opto thrives on human connection. He is attentive, enjoys engaging with people, and shares affection with those around him. For anyone seeking a companion who values interaction, Opto offers a lot of love. However, Opto has significant needs that call for an experienced and dedicated adopter. He reacts to male dogs and has unpredictable responses with them. Additionally, he has a strong prey drive towards small animals. Therefore, we recommend a home where he is the only pet, ensuring a stable and secure environment. Opto requires regular physical activity, mental stimulation, and enrichment. Without these, he has shown behavior like chewing on his tail. A routine filled with meaningful engagement and appropriate outlets for his energy will support his long-term happiness and well-being. The ideal adopter for Opto will be someone with experience, ready to provide the structure and affection he needs. Make Opto part of your life and enjoy the companionship he brings.
