About Mackie the lap

Meet Mackie, a sweet survivor with so much love to share. At around 8 years old, this charming white tabby has experienced more than his fair share of hardships but continues to radiate affection. Rescued from the streets of Newark, Mackie arrived thin and hungry and spent too long in a crate before finally discovering the comforts of home. He quickly settled in and made it his own. Recently, he faced a tough time, needing amputation of his tail due to a serious infection. Despite the challenges, Mackie bravely pulled through, even adapting to a recovery collar with ease. Affectionate and easygoing, Mackie is a true lap cat, always ready to curl up beside you or follow you around the house with his soft meows. He loves his banana catnip toy and is happiest simply being near his human. Mackie manages early-stage kidney issues with prescription food and has recovered well from previous eye surgery. His ideal home would be a peaceful one where he can receive all the love and snuggles he craves. While he prefers to be the one and only cat soaking up attention, he could get along with a gentle feline companion. Mackie isn’t suited for homes with young kids, as he sometimes gives affectionate love nibbles. There’s no information on how he interacts with dogs. After all he’s been through, Mackie deserves a forever home filled with warmth and affection. He’s ready to be someone’s world.
