THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS? WE THINK SO. The goofy, gentle giant potential of a Great Dane... mixed with the intelligence, athleticism and drive of a German Shepherd? Meet ASLAN. This handsome guy is a Great Dane/German Shepherd mix, and at just 1 year old, he has plenty of life, adventure and love ahead of him. Colorado Springs, CO Transport options available Deadline: October 9, 2026 Aslan is affectionate, playful, cuddly and VERY much a people dog. He loves attention, enjoys getting out and about, rides well in the car and knows basic obedience. He’s also good with other dogs and would likely enjoy a canine companion who can keep up with him. Like any young, energetic dog, Aslan has some things his future family will need to understand and be prepared to manage. Bicycles are a significant trigger for Aslan. He has a history of reacting strongly when bicycles are present, including an incident where he got loose and a cyclist was injured. Because of that history, his new home will need to be especially careful about secure containment and managing his exposure to bicycles. A tall, secure fence and a large yard would be ideal. He can also become destructive when left alone, potentially related to separation anxiety, so his family will need to be prepared to work through that with him.
