About Chewbacca

Chewbacca, or Chewy as he's affectionately known, has faced challenges early in life. Rescued from OCAS in January 2026, he had a rocky start and needs a special adopter. This sensitive little Shih Tzu, weighing just 13 pounds, requires time and patience to feel secure in a new home. Initially timid, he flourishes in a calm environment, showing his playful personality once he’s comfortable. You’ll witness him tossing his bed, playing with toys, and eagerly anticipating treats. Crate trained, Chewy enjoys having his own space to rest and eat. He takes time to build trust, so his ideal adopter will understand that his affection is earned over time. Although he’s neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped, Chewy is selective about his food and prefers to eat in solitude with his bowl picked up afterward. It's best that he resides in a quiet home without small children, as he isn't fond of strangers entering his space too quickly. With the right patient individual, Chewy promises to reward your kindness with loyalty and joy. If you believe you can provide the loving atmosphere he needs, consider making Chewy a part of your family. Click apply to start the adoption process.
