About Mama Bear
Meet Mama Bear! Mama Bear is a beautiful and gentle girl who is ready for a forever family. With her lovely Rottweiler-like appearance and soulful eyes, she is truly one of a kind. As a “Rez Dog,” her exact breed mix remains a mystery, but what we do know is that she deserves all the love in the world. Mama Bear came to us from Underdog Rescue in Moab, bringing along her four adorable puppies, all of whom have now found their forever homes. Now, it’s Mama’s turn. Having had a difficult past, Mama Bear is still learning that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. She’s somewhat shy and can feel unsure with new people and situations. Patience is key; she needs time to warm up. Initially, Mama Bear didn't know how to walk on a leash, but with ongoing encouragement, she is gaining confidence every day. Her new family will need to support her as she navigates this new chapter. Currently, Mama Bear is working on her potty training, as she likely spent much of her life outdoors. She may require a bit more effort in this area compared to other two-year-old dogs, but that effort will certainly pay off. With her heart of gold, once Mama Bear trusts you, she’ll shower you with affection and love. Mama Bear has met a few friendly dogs and seems to prefer a little distance from others. She’ll need slow introductions with any potential doggy siblings or friends. We’re still learning how she interacts with cats. Her ideal home would be one that is calm and maybe has older kids who can respect her boundaries. Mama Bear doesn’t need a perfect home, just a patient one ready to celebrate her small victories and show her that she is safe and loved. Now that she’s done such a great job raising her puppies, it’s her time to be pampered. If you're ready to welcome a sweet, shy girl who is eager to learn and love, Mama Bear might be the perfect match for you! What are you waiting for? Apply today!
