About Rocky

Rocky is a 3-year-old, 65-pound Lab mix with impressive house manners and a charming underbite, hinting at a lineage that might include a Dogue de Bordeaux, though that seems far-fetched. He arrived at the rescue with his sister after their family lost their home to foreclosure. While his sister has found her forever home, Rocky is still waiting for the right person to appreciate all he has to offer. This active boy thrives on movement and mental stimulation. Whether it's runs, long walks, or backyard games, Rocky is eager to join in. He requires a committed owner who embraces exercise as part of their routine; a fenced yard is non-negotiable for him. His playtime consists of enthusiastic wrestling, so only sturdy dogs who can hold their own will do. Generally, he enjoys the company of friendly dogs but may be a bit much for more delicate companions. Rocky has a history of living with children but would likely do best in a home with teens or adults who can keep up with his energetic antics. He has been pleasant around cats, though a careful introduction is essential since he may find their sudden movements intriguing. Rocky responds best to a consistent, kind handler. Everyone has their methods, but for this guy, a clear routine is key. This distinguished canine is not just about looks; he’s well-trained and ready to be that active companion you'd love to share adventures with. If you're waiting for a sign to adopt, Rocky is it.
