About Hunter Green
Meet Hunter Green. Hunter is a 3-year-old, 22-pound Jack Russell Terrier mix who found his way to Umbrella of Hope just in time. The shelter environment overwhelmed him, and he started withdrawing almost immediately. However, within 24 hours of leaving, he began to show his true personality. Initially, Hunter is a bit cautious, especially around unfamiliar people and loud noises, but with some time, he warms up beautifully. He's a dog that thrives on the company of canines, displaying a strong love for other dogs which helps boost his confidence. He walks well on a leash, enjoys exploring, and is already making great strides with potty training after only a couple of days in foster care. He’s starting to learn basic commands and seems eager to understand what’s expected of him. It appears he may have spent time as a stray, as many daily routines seemed foreign at first, but he’s catching on quickly and is genuinely eager to please. While he might bark during play, there’s no aggression, no resource guarding, and he hasn’t shown any destructive tendencies. Potential adopters should know that Hunter is still learning how to feel safe, and he would do best in a calm home without young children. Right now, he needs consistency, patience, and guidance to continue his journey. He’s been discovering the joys of soft beds, regular meals, walks, and affection, and he’s loving every minute of it. Hunter is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and parasite-free. With the right support, he has the potential to become a phenomenal companion. What Hunter truly needs is someone committed to helping him complete the transformation he has already started. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
