About Lorenzo

Meet Lorenzo. Lorenzo is a 2-year-old, 13-pound Chihuahua mix looking for a very special home. He hasn't had an easy start, but with the help of his foster family, he's made incredible strides. This little guy is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He did recently lose a few teeth during a dental cleaning, which adds to his charming character. Lorenzo has some allergies and does best on a hydrolyzed protein diet. Smart and well-trained, Lorenzo enjoys being part of daily activities. He knows commands like sit and come, walks well on a leash, loves car rides, and has a blast playing with other small dogs. A home with another well-adjusted small dog could be ideal for him. Lorenzo needs an experienced adopter who understands fearful dogs and behavior management. He has a history of biting when startled or frightened, but he's worked hard on coping skills. His future family must continue to provide the structure and support he needs to feel safe. Because of his past, Lorenzo would do best in an adult-only home or one without young children. He should not be around cats and would thrive in a calm, predictable environment. Separate feeding areas are necessary if there are other dogs to help with resource guarding. An adopter who respects his boundaries and builds his confidence will be rewarded with a loyal companion. Underneath his fears lies a dog that craves affection and thrives on patience and understanding. For the right person, adopting Lorenzo can be a truly rewarding experience.
