Meet Dee Dee. This sweet girl has been through a lot but still shows incredible love and resilience. Dee Dee is a 4-year-old Chow Chow mix, tipping the scales at just 35 pounds. She’s small but has a heart that bursts with affection for everyone—people, dogs, and cats alike. Dee Dee came to the shelter with her puppy after they were abandoned. Although her owner returned looking for them, they opted to take the puppy home while leaving Dee Dee behind because she was heartworm positive. Despite this betrayal, Dee Dee remained gentle and loving. Now in her foster home, she’s blossomed. Each morning, she eagerly joins her foster family for snuggles and patiently paws at her foster mom if dinner is taking too long. Dee Dee's personality is shining as she learns that she's safe and loved. Dee Dee is spayed, house trained, and up to date on all vaccinations. She is also heartworm positive, but treatment will be fully covered by FABS Rescue. Her new family will just need to commit to her heartworm journey.
