About Cashew

Meet Cashew! This young Boxer and American Staffordshire Terrier mix is a joyful 1-year-old, weighing in at 39 lbs. With his big grin, perked-up ears, and occasional tongue out, he’s always eager to make new friends. Cashew found himself dumped at a park, but since joining the shelter, he’s blossomed into a confident and playful pup. He's all about those tasty treats, especially if it comes as a pup cup. He's participated in several adoption events, charming kids and adults alike with his wagging tail and lively spirit. His favorite activities include walks around the park, fetch, and tug—anything that keeps him active. Cashew is smart, too! He already knows several commands and has been working with a trainer to refine his skills and learn to self-regulate. After a recent recovery from tibial repair surgery, he’s ready to enjoy full play. Cashew would thrive in a home that continues his training and ideally has another playful dog to keep him company. He’s house trained, crate trained, food motivated, and filled with playful energy. Cashew is currently based in Houston, TX, but he’s available for adoption through transport to Vermont.
