About Sassy

Sassy is a delightful 5-month-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix with a personality that far exceeds her small size. This charming little girl has a knack for capturing hearts. She came to the rescue after being passed to an elderly owner who realized she couldn’t keep up with all the puppy energy. Now, Sassy is eager to find a family that is ready for her playful spirit and affectionate nature. Weighing in at just 14 pounds, Sassy is unlikely to grow much more. She's robust and full of spunk, thriving on the company of other dogs. This tiny dynamo has bonded with both our resident Chihuahua, Sweetie, and her foster buddy, Sid, creating an adorable trio that loves to chase, wrestle, and plot mischief together. Sassy gets along wonderfully with other small, playful dogs and she shows respect to older canines as well. Her charm is enhanced by her unique overbite, affectionately known as brachygnathism, which adds character to her little face without affecting her ability to eat. Sassy also has a soft spot for snuggling and being involved in family activities; she relishes companionship and conversation. She would thrive in an active home, particularly one with young children who can be gentle with her. Living alone for long stretches isn’t an option for Sassy; she delights in company, whether that’s from her humans or another friendly dog. Consistent housetraining has shown promising results, and she's already crate trained. With a little guidance on leash training, she's poised to grow into a remarkable adult dog. Sassy enjoys toys, particularly those she can playfully steal, and has a zest for mealtimes that lights up her spirit. She embodies joy, playfulness, and a mischievous charm. This lovable puppy is looking for someone to join her on adventures and shower her with love. If you’re ready for a pint-sized companion with a generous heart, Sassy might just be the perfect addition to your family. Out-of-state adoptions are welcomed, and transporting Sassy can be arranged.
