About Carmen
Meet Carmen, a uniquely beautiful and gently shy girl who’s ready to find her forever home. At just 2.5 years old, Carmen is a Labrador and Weimaraner mix weighing around 40 lbs. She’s sweet and enjoys having her humans close by, though she might take a moment to warm up to new folks. After a tough start on the streets, she's now blossoming and learning that love is possible. Walks on a leash are a highlight for her and she responds well to food motivation, making bonding a rewarding experience for those willing to take their time. Carmen gets along nicely with other dogs as long as they respect her space. In her previous foster home, she happily coexisted with nine other dogs. A perfect leash walker, she brings a gentle presence to any environment. She’s not a chewer or mischievous, so you won’t have to worry about her getting into your belongings. This girl would thrive in a calm, low-energy home where sudden movements or loud sounds don’t startle her. While she does well with gentle children—having interacted positively with her foster parent’s 11-year-old grandson—she’d prefer a quieter space without kids under 10. Once she trusts you, expect her to curl up beside you for some much-needed downtime. Carmen is currently fostered in Round Rock, TX, and is adoptable throughout Texas and the Northeastern states.
