Sailor is a large, neutered male Yellow Labrador Retriever. He is house trained and fully vaccinated. Easygoing and well-mannered, Sailor loves spending time with his people, whether out on adventures or relaxing at home.

About Sailor

Meet Sailor! Sailor is a lively Lab mix who's about 6 years old, filled with adventure and a heart full of love for his people. He’s eager to be a devoted companion, whether that’s hiking trails, exploring parks, or lounging on the couch. His passion for outdoor activities shines through when he senses a walk or a car ride; he starts excited but calms down quickly once on a leash or in the car. Water is Sailor’s true joy. He thrives in swimming, fetch games by the pool or lake, and enjoys playfully attacking the spray from a garden hose. He can join you on a pontoon boat and may adapt well to paddleboarding with some training. Off leash, he's got fantastic recall and loves to investigate his surroundings. Despite his energetic nature, Sailor enjoys relaxation time at home. He’s crate trained and often chooses to rest there, impressively calm during long car trips. He’s had three weeks of professional training, mastering commands like heel, sit, and stay. Sailor is known for his food motivation, especially when it comes to his favorite treat—hard-boiled egg yolk—drawing him in with just a tap on the counter. Sailor would prefer to be the only pet in the home as he finds cats too tempting to chase. While he has managed well with some small, submissive dogs, he might need redirection around easily startled or reactive ones. He thrives on being included in family activities, whether big outings or quiet evenings at home. An adults-only household or one with older teenagers would suit him best due to his history of unease around young children. His current family, who loves him dearly, is heartbroken to find a new home for him after he previously spent two years in a kennel. At the right home, without young kids or other pets, Sailor is set to be a loyal and adventurous best friend. Help Sailor find the loving home he deserves!
