About Fonzie
Meet Fonzie. This 17-pound Dachshund/Terrier mix has soulful eyes and a gentle heart, ready for a fresh start. Fonzie and his brother came to Take Paws after a tough situation involving hoarding and neglect. Despite his past, Fonzie has remained sweet and gentle even when life felt overwhelming. In a short time, this brave boy has transformed from hiding in corners to hopping into laps and curling up beside his people. Heβs discovered the joy of chew toys and is becoming more adventurous, eager to explore and meet new friends. Though he may approach new experiences cautiously, with a little time, he blossoms beautifully. Fonzie is making strides on walks and is gaining confidence with each outing. Though loud noises can still startle him, heβs learning that he is safe. He appears house trained and does well in his crate. Fonzie needs a patient and gentle family who will let him continue growing at his own pace. He may not arrive like he owns the place, but seeing him realize he belongs somewhere is a special moment. When he chooses your lap or curls up next to you, you'll know you've earned the trust of one remarkable dog. Fonzie is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on his vaccines. He's come so far and just needs a family to give him a forever home. Think you can be that family?
