Abby
AvailableMeet Abby, a 4-year-old female mixed breed dog, with a large frame and a beautiful coat of yellow and tan with cream highlights. She is not housetrained, but she is up to date on her vaccinations. Abby has a warm and affectionate nature, and would thrive best in an adult-only home, as she becomes overwhelmed around young children. Located in Spokane, WA, Abby is looking for someone to share her life with.
About Abby
Abby's journey has been quite extraordinary. Found as a stray during the harsh Spokane fires, her paws were badly burned, leaving her without a family. The team at SpokAnimal took her in, nursed her back to health, and now, thankfully, her paws are feeling much better. But Abby’s story continues; she has yet to find her forever home after months of searching. Abby is a genuinely sweet and loving girl who thrives on attention. She can feel overwhelmed in her kennel, often barking when people walk past—not out of anger, but as a plea for connection. Her ideal adopter will be patient, someone willing to give her time to adjust and who can see through her initial uncertainty. Abby tends to feel most comfortable around women but has warmed up to men as well. Once she knows you, you’ll discover a loyal companion who loves to spend time with you. She enjoys the company of other dogs and would do best in an adult-only home, where the atmosphere is calm and predictable. Kids can be too much for her energy. Abby may not catch your eye from behind a kennel door, but she has a resilient spirit, having survived difficult times and still maintaining hope. She’s been waiting since August for the right person to stop and notice her. If you think you can be that person, come meet Abby in one of the fenced yards outside the shelter. Give her a chance, and you may find your best friend waiting just behind the initial bark. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
